What You'll Be Doing
The Registered Nurse/Child and Family Health Nurse (CFHN) is responsible for the provision of safe, compassionate, quality, client centred care and work in collaboration with patients/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes. The role involves the provision of universal services to families with children aged 0 – 5 as well as working in a Sustained Health Home Visiting (SHHV) model. The position will work collaboratively with social work to provide assessment, care coordination and education to families and take into account clinical, psychosocial and cultural needs.
The SHHV program works with vulnerable women and their families, from the antenatal period, potentially until the child is 2 years of age. This will include home visiting and practical support based on primary health care principles to promote a safe and secure environment for children.The aim is to better respond to and provide early intervention and prevention care interventions for families in need of additional support and those with complex needs.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Child and Family Health nursing qualifications or commitment to undertake and complete in first 12 months. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the Child and Family Health Nursing Speciality.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with clients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
- Willingness to enhance professional development by participating in training/education activities.
- Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
