Registered Nurse – Community Child and Family Health
Job description
Child and Family Health Nursing in the community is a challenging role even for experienced registered nurses with Child and Family Health training. RN with midwifery and Child and Family Health will find rewards in the practice which extends their role and provides a continuum of care in the support of families. The role involves working autonomously undertaking child development assessment, home visiting, psychosocial assessments, breastfeeding support, facilitating parent groups and the management of vulnerable families with DCJ and Ngo’s.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- NSW Registered Nurse with AHPRA. Current drivers licence recognised in NSW.
- Recognised post graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices used when providing health services to families in their homes.
- Ability to demonstrate counselling skills, group facilitation skills and working in partnership with families.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients, colleagues and other professionals both verbal and written.
- Understanding of the principles of primary health care in the context of Child and Family Health Nursing.
