Come and join our COVID-19 teams. We have a diverse range of skills required to work in the Virtual Hospital, the COVID-19 Community Testing Clinics which are situated across NSLHD or Sydney airport. The Virtual Hospital is located in the Vanderfield Building at Royal North Shore Hospital and comprises of Team A – Welfare Checks which is a multidisciplinary team and Team B – a very busy hotline team.

In our facility based clinic or our ever changing pop-up clinics, nurses are required to screen and assess patients who present and meet current testing criteria, they are then required to swab all patients. On the job training is provided, followed by competency assessment. A willingness to travel across sites and undertake shift work including weekends is required. Additional opportunity may be facilitated within clinic areas of hospital facilities.

Staff must be willing to undertake and train in mask fit testing and are also encouraged and supported to undertake an accredited course in immunisation. Other skills in the future may be required i.e. nasogastric tube replacement and venepuncture. Nurses will be required to undertake administrative duties such as registration and NAPPING.

  • Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
