What you'll be doing
A fabulous opportunity is available for Registered Nurses to joint the team in Intensive Care Unit at Nepean Hospital, both permanent full time and part time positions are available.

The Registered Nurse will:

  • provide safe and effective patient-centred nursing care to the patients/clients and carers of Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District
  • ensure optimal outcomes for patients/clients and carers of the service through the promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care
  • practice under the supervision of a Registered Midwife if required to work in maternity wards/units
  • work collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of patient care
  • act as an advocate for the specific needs of all patients/clients and carers including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the patient/client undergoing specialised
    procedures
  • maintain and promote a professional standard evidenced by ethical nursing practice, adherence to the policies and procedures of the Nursing and Midwifery Service, NMBLHD and the appropriate legislation and statutory regulations
  • provide support to all staff and students
  • effectively manage resources relevant to the service

Selection criteria to be addressed:

  • Current registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Able to perform effectively as a team member
  • Recent experience working as a registered nurse in an Intensive or Critical Care environment
  • Ability to be available to work flexible shifts including Mornings, Evenings or Night shifts 7 days week
  • Computer literacy and committment to personal development
  • Demonstrated experience and clinical skills in nursing as a registered nurse (including Completion of New Graduate Registered Nurse Program or equivalent 12 months experience working as registered nurse)
