An exciting opportunity exists for Nursing staff to apply for the Registered Nurse Mental Health Clinician role, which supports the Assertive Outreach Team (AOT) to continue to facilitate the delivery of safe and effective health care in a constantly changing and high paced environment. As a Care Co-ordinator you will be the key contact to support individuals develop their recovery plan and personal goals using a person-centred and trauma informed approach to care.
The NBCMHS comprises of Community Mental Health Teams each working in a multidisciplinary team comprised of nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and psychiatrists. This ensures consumers and carers are offered a broad range of knowledge and experience in all aspects of adult mental health.
The Northern Beaches Community Mental Health Service (NBCMHS) aims to instil hope, promote well-being and support recovery in the lives of adults living in the Northern Beaches area who are affected by severe and enduring mental illness. We provide an assertive and intensive care coordinated service focused on the individual needs of each consumer. The NBCMHS aims to make a positive difference in the lives of those with whom we work. Every consumer is allocated a Care Co-ordinator who will be the key contact to support individuals develop their recovery plan and personal goals.

What you'll be doing
As a Care Co-ordinator you will be the key contact to support individuals develop their recovery plan and personal goals using a person-centred and trauma informed approach to care.
In line with the Public Health (COVID-19 Care Services) Order (No 3) 2021 it is a requirement in this role to have three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine (unless a medical exemption applies). New workers can commence with only two doses, however the third dose must be received within 6 weeks of commencement.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Registered Nurse – Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Current mental health, drug and alcohol clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
- A commitment to excellence in mental health nursing practice and continuing professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of information technology systems.
