St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, are seeking enthusiastic, passionate & dedicated Registered Nurses wishing to join our Operating Suite. Opportunities exist for employment commencing now or alternatively in January 2023 to undertake the Graduate Certificate of Perioperative Nursing with Deakin University.

About the Position
Are you looking to further your career in Perioperative Nursing? Are you keen to continue developing your clinical skills in a supportive, collaborative team environment? Opportunities exist for a February 2023 Postgraduate intake, with consideration given for commencing employment with St. Vincent’s in 2022.
Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 base salary per annum).

You will be supported by the Operating Suite and education team to care for perioperative patients within the Operating Suite including Scrub /Scout, Post Anaesthetic Care Unit and Anaesthetics

You will receive diverse exposure to a range of patient presentations & clinical conditions during your 12 months.

2023 Postgraduate Perioperative Postgraduate students will undertake the Graduate Certificate of Perioperative Nursing with Deakin University commencing February 2023.

To participate in this program, applicants must be successful in gaining employment with SVHM to complete the clinical requirements.

There are fixed term & ongoing SVHM contract opportunities.

Successful candidates will be required to enrol into one of the following Perioperative streams with Deakin University to complete the academic requirements.

Graduate Certificate of Perioperative Nursing (combined Periop and Perian)

Graduate Certificate of Perianaesthesia Nursing
-
Graduate Certificate of Intraoperative Nursing

To fulfil the employment contract with SVHM students must be enrolled in the Graduate Certificate for the entire 1-year period.

Selection criteria

Applicants must hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse without conditions.

Applicants must have completed a minimum of 2 years nursing practice in an acute care setting (inclusive of graduate nurse year).

Preferred that candidates have a minimum of six months current acute Perioperative nursing experience
-
Applicants must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency
-
Applicants should have professional indemnity insurance
-
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About Operating Suite at St. Vincent’s
The Operating Suite consists of 12 Operating Rooms supported by a Holding Bay area and an 18 bed Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU).
A wide range of surgical procedures is performed at St Vincent’s Public Hospital, including some of the latest and innovative developments in surgical techniques. Surgical specialties include but are not limited to Cardio-vascular, Head and Neck, Thoracic, Neurosurgery, Plastic reconstructive, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary, Endoscopy, Urology and Orthopaedics.
