About the role:
You will join one of the world’s leading and connected rural health services as a Primary & Community Health Registered Nurse(RN) where we are driven by a single goal; healthier rural people- thriving communities.
A commitment to serving the community and providing care is the heart of the Primary & Community Health RN in western NSW. This role is an important part of the overall healthcare team providing direct nursing care to patient/ clients of the health service; providing a flexible service delivery model to patients/ clients/ carers, both in community and ambulatory settings; and leading, directing and supervising other nurses and other care roles in the team, such as Enrolled Nurses (EN), Assistants in Nursing (AIN), student and Aboriginal Health Workers (AHW) to support quality care for patients/ clients.
The Primary & Community Health Registered Nurse will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of chronic disease prevention, health improvement initiatives and other hospitalisation prevention strategies that are evidence based, to assist in the overall health and wellbeing of the western NSW community.

Where you’ll be working:
Coonamble Multipurpose Service (MPS) is a 25-bed facility which includes acute and residential aged care services. Coonamble MPS has 24-hour emergency care, palliative care services, outpatient services including renal dialysis and a range of integrated primary and community health care services supported by the local Health One.
Coonamble is less than two hours from Dubbo and the region is home to around 3600 people with a third residents of rural properties and a third identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The town and district enjoys a surprising range and quality of services and facilities including child care, aged and disability services, housing, health, education, fitness and recreation; and a full calendar of events designed to keep people connected, involved and entertained all year round.
Coonamble is home to Australia’s biggest rodeo and campdraft, large silo murals, a museum and an art gallery, and has three natural wonders close by, the Warrumbungle National Park, the Macquarie Marshes and the Pilliga Forest. It’s a town of art deco buildings, classic country pubs, boutique shops and rural hospitality. Coonamble has a daily country link service to Sydney.
