We are seeking a Registered Nurse Specialist, specialising in Drug and Alcohol, to join us and make a difference every day

Be a part of a team of Health Professionals - Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Team Leaders, Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurse Specialists.
Our Health Services team provides primary care based on a patient-centred model allowing patients to actively participate in their health management. The team works closely with correctional staff to deliver holistic and integrated patient-centred health services that: Treat and prevent communicable disease, and proactively treat chronic disease
Educate custodial patients on healthy living and lifestyle choices
Assist with reintegration back into the community and provide continuity of care
Address the diverse needs of the custodial patient population, including men, women and culturally and linguistically diverse peoples through specific tailoring.

To help us make a difference, you will need:
Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse, with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Minimum of two years full time equivalent experience in a primary health or acute setting.
Suitable formal qualification, training and experience in the specialisation of “Drug and Alcohol” Nursing.
Demonstrated ability to accurately assess and effectively manage a person withdrawing from alcohol and/or drugs.
Well-developed written, communication and interpersonal skills and ability to adapt communication appropriately.
Self-management, motivation and resilience abilities essential to working in a complex environment. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Cultural awareness including understanding the impact and management and working with people of different ethnic backgrounds, customs and contemporary issues.
The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.

About Clarence Correctional Centre
Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional centre in Australia. Located on the beautiful NSW Mid-North Coast approx. 6 hours' drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes and some of the best Australian beaches with a variety of multi-cultural cafes, restaurants and friendly community towns. Competitive Remuneration Package ranging from $107,675 - $119,821 Total Remuneration Package. Total Remuneration Package is inclusive of penalties, allowances, loadings and superannuation.
$8,000.00 Sign on Support Payment ($4,000 paid on commencement and $4,000 following 9-months completed service), sign on payment – subject to conditions.
Up to $5,000 relocation assistance (non-cash out benefit) in accordance with policy
Five (5) weeks annual leave for Day Workers (Monday to Friday)
Ten (10) days personal/careers leave
Two (2) days volunteer leave each year, to support community and social causes
