About the team:
An exciting oppurtunity to work in mental health as a registered nurse. Successful candidates will be based primarily in Wanyarra Inpatient Unit with possiblity of rotations into the mental health service to experience working in mental health in a range of settings
About the role:
Have you always wondered what it might be like to work in mental health nursing but not sure how you might take that step? This fixed term oppurtunity will offer oppurtunity to work in mental health nursing and provide care for people with a mental illness or psycholocial issues.
Mental health care allows oppurtunity to develop relationships with the consumer, their families and carers to promote recovery, autonomy and support decision making. It involves working collaboratively with the multidiciplinary team and considering all areas of a person's life to support a person with a mental illness recover.
The successful candidate will be an excellent team worker, will have a strong desire to work in mental health, to promote recovery and provide support for consumers, families and carers.
We are looking for:
- Current registraion as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Strong interest in mental health nursing or working in mental health
- very good communication skills
- ability to demonstrate ongoing self directed professional devlopment

- Essential : Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse

- Essential : Have a commitment to professional development, service development and evaluation
- Essential : Be willing to participate and complete all aspects of the transition to mental health nursing learning and professional development program
- Essential : Have a commitment to mental health nursing for people with serious mental health issues
- Essential : Be a high performer who is patient-focused, motivated and enthusiastic
- Essential : A satisfactory National Criminal History Record Check, Victorian 'Employee' Working with Children Check and completion of a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration will be required from prospective candidates prior to commencement of employment.
