The Position

St John of God Richmond Hospital is a private mental health hospital northwest of Sydney providing comprehensive and holistic mental health care services in a tranquil setting. Providing multidisciplinary care to all patients based on an individualised care model, the hospital wards maintain strong links with community mental health services, other primary health care providers and social services to ensure patients receive ongoing care after leaving hospital

Positions are available within our Nursing Department for Registered Nurses with a minimum of one year nursing experience in a mental health environment to join our clinical teams. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in order to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Registered Nurses with recent experience in mental health nursing are encouraged to apply.

Positions are available as 12 months fulltime or part time fixed term contract, casual, permanent or part time ongoing with negotiable hours of up to 76 hours per fortnight.

The successful candidates will have:

• Have an understanding of and ability to apply occupational health and safety principles to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace.
• Currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
• Mental Health nursing experience.
• Clear concise written and verbal communication.
• Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Ability to identify and solve problems, or seek help from appropriate resources.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
• Work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team.
• Knowledge and experience in the application of continuous quality improvement principles.
