We need you*
Working closely with both our Aboriginal Health Practitioners and Doctors, our Remote Area Nurses are critical to our client's success. You’ll be committed to finding the best way to communicate with clients in order to provide great care and follow up with them in sometimes uncertain circumstances. You will need to provide high quality, culturally appropriate and effective nursing practice and improve the health and well-being of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people at Milingimbi.
Core aspects of your role will include:
- To work in the Chronic Disease Program in association with the Aboriginal Health Practitioners / Community Worker to provide high quality Chronic Disease health management.
- Provide holistic care, support and maintenance in the delivery of the Miwatj Health chronic disease register / recall database.
- Support clinics by working towards seeing specific clients who have been generated by managers to ensure KPI's are met.
- Collaboratively and autonomously work within the framework of the Miwatj Health Chronic Disease Program.
- Complete all administrative follow up requirements associated with chronic disease clients.
- Supporting 24 hour service to community, you will participate in a rotating after hours roster

A competitive salary of full remuneration $284,146 (inclusive of base salary $110,606) - $293,518 (inclusive of base salary $118,826) PA (dependent on skills and experience) is available with this full-time position. The full remuneration is inclusive of:

Before you reach out and apply, we need you to have:
- A current Registration and annual Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Minimum of 5 years general nursing experience post registration and 3 years working as a remote area nurse with experience working in a Chronic Disease program.
- A demonstrated understanding and knowledge of social determinants of health issues affecting Aboriginal people.
- A demonstrated knowledge of the principles of Primary Health Care, and program delivery in a Primary Health Care setting.
- Able to obtain a Working With Children’s Card (OCHRE card) and police check.
- Hold current or eligible to obtain CPR and AGV certificates.
- Current NT drivers’ licence.
