The Metabolic Diseases Unit is a specialist unit at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, providing statewide services to patients across Victoria and Tasmania with a range of inborn errors of metabolism. With growing patient numbers, this small team is highly committed to their patients, working closely together in a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best patient outcomes.
We have a great opportunity for a skilled and experienced research and clinical trials practitioner to join us on a part time 0.4FTE basis for 6 months initially, with the possibility of a longer term role.
This role will help expand the Unit's engagement with early and late phase clinical trials, including into novel treatment areas such as enzyme replacement therapy and gene therapy. It will also help support investigator initiated research.
Your new role:
- Enjoy using your expertise and setting up the research function in this specialist clinical space
- Work closely and collegially with your clinical colleagues for the best patient research outcomes
- Liaise effectively with patients and clinical trials partners across Australia

- You are a highly organised, collaborative and proactive person with expertise in the full research function
- You enjoy working with a team but also happy to work independently
- You are an excellent communicator, ensuring patients participating in trials are supported
