The Opportunity

Based at our Head Office in Norwood an exciting opportunity for an experienced Retail/Interior Designer has arisen as a result of our accelerated network expansion. The Retail/Interior Designer will develop and prepare new retail store designs, existing store refit concepts and commercial building concepts whilst ensuring full adherence with building codes and developmental regulations.

What will you be responsible for?

• Design and project management of new Smokemart & GiftBox retail stores, as well as the refurbishment program for existing stores within company portfolio.
• Design of small Commercial Property projects.
• Conceptual design & development, space planning, FF&E sourcing and selection.
• Drafting of architectural tender & construction issue documents.
• Responsible for internal and external communication with key stakeholders, suppliers and contractors.
• Deliver the Design Vision and project deliverables.
• Implementing project processes and standards.

The Retail/Interior Designer will work alongside the broader property team.

What skills and experience will our ideal candidate have?

• Tertiary qualifications in Interior Architecture, Architecture, Building Design or equivalent;
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Retail/Commercial Design
• Excellent Interpersonal Skills & Self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously;
• Willingness to lead projects with superior attention to detail;
• A strong work ethic and the ability to work to tight deadlines;
• Sound knowledge and understanding of industry policies, standards and codes of practice;
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the Building Code of Australia;
• Proficiency in Auto Cad, Sketch Up, In Design, Photoshop and MS Suite of programs, and familiarity with Revit.
