About the Role
As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing total revenue potential for Park Hyatt Melbourne across the MICE, Rooms & Events market segment with a focus on the acquisition of new business, the retention and development of existing business, in line with personal business plan goals.
Working in a team of 6, you will support the Director of Sales and Marketing in the day to day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.
This varied and dynamic role provides a chance to develop your Hospitality career within an international company; either in Australia or overseas.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Achieve established monthly personal plan targets set in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Marketing
- Maintain existing relationships with key Professional Conference Organisers, Venue Finders and Corporate Accounts and develop new relationships to ensure optimum exposure within the market segment
- To proactively canvas for new business with a view of increasing acquisitions across priority industry sectors
- Work with the Director of Sales and Marketing to review hotel sales targets and pricing strategies for all key accounts
- Assist sales colleagues where required with account management and demonstrating Hyatt’s selling techniques
- Review personal business plans monthly
- To work closely with the Rooms and Event Sales team on sales leads to maximize conversion and total hotel revenues
- Ensure all reports and correspondence are completed accurately and punctually
- Actively pursue marketing intelligence and potential business opportunities
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Sales & Marketing, Events, Commerce or other related business qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within the five-star hotel market
- Business Development and Event management skills with an entrepreneurial sales & customer service spirit
- A strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational / time-management skills
- Proven experience in achieving sales targets, acquiring and retaining business
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to create a positive first impression with an understanding of the importance of five-star grooming standards
