The Screening Services Officer provides:

  • Administrative support to the BreastScreen Tasmania program and other units within Population Screening and Cancer Prevention.


  • High level service delivery to clients and staff of the BreastScreen Tasmania program.

The Role:

  • Provide an efficient, personal and friendly reception service for clients and staff at BreastScreen Tasmania screening and assessment clinics.
  • Book clients for screening mammogram appointments in a busy call centre environment.
  • Answer general enquiries and client requests for information in accordance with established guidelines, procedures and BreastScreen Tasmania policies.
  • Maintain medical records, including entering client information, symptoms and family history into the electronic client information system and assigning client screening profiles accordingly.

Position Features:

  • May be required to work outside normal working hours
  • The occupant of this position may be required to work at any BreastScreen location including Mobile Units within the Region of appointment
  • Intrastate travel may be required to other BreastScreen Tasmania sites

Details of Appointment:

Permanent, full time, day work, not working weekends but working public holidays position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible.

  • notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
  • Applicants should note that, for a period of six months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Base Salary: $58,652 to $63,154 per annum + 10.5% superannuation

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Knowledge of, and experience in the use of medical terminology
  • Current Driver’s Licence

Experience working in a client-facing role in health would be highly regarded but is not essential.

  • serious drug offences
