Top manufacturer in the Decatur, IL area looking for a Senior Buyer to join their supply chain team. The Senior Buyer will evaluate supplier quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers while maintaining day to day communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, system data integrity, and ordering parameters for individual materials, all while earning a competitive base salary and full benefit offerings for a well-rounded total package for the right individual.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for purchasing and negotiating MRO items, equipment, and supplies; supporting the maintenance department as needed

• Responsible for purchasing and negotiating production materials

• Responsible for issuing work orders, planning, and scheduling production

• Evaluate supplier quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers

• Day to day communication with suppliers to ensure ontime delivery, system data integrity, and ordering parameters for individual materials

• Maintain ideal inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries, while maximizing turns, and minimizing carrying costs

• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

• Perform a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

• Understand the dynamics of effective teamwork in order to attain higher levels of performance

• Demonstrate a commitment to engage teams in other departments or divisions of the organization

• Understands and can clearly demonstrate fluency in commercial components of contract /supplier agreements, INCO terms etc.
