In the recent years we've seen an increasing demand from customers to accelerate their migration and modernization efforts. In this role you will be helping VMware customers to accelerate their cloud journey with Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), Google's 1st party solution built and sold in partnership with VMware (Note: Please visit Google Cloud VMware Engine for more information about GCVE)

You will be a part of the Hyperscaler Sales team in Cloud Sales organization, responsible for GCVE business in ANZ. You will act as a CEO and COO of this business in your assigned territory defining the vision, strategy, and execution plan to meet bookings and revenue consumption targets, while building a strong GCVE ecosystem in ANZ. You will be workings very closely with Google Cloud and VMware Field Sales, Channel and Marketing organizations and key SIs and MSPs in ANZ.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Establishing relationships with colleagues, customers and partners; building solid knowledge and understanding of our technologies; and navigating the sales processes and best practices within our teams. As the face of the business, our customers' success will come from great communication skills, effective planning and delivery, and relentless curiosity for learning and application.

  • Within 30 days of employment, you will have effectively conceptualized how Google Cloud VMware Engine and VMware multi-cloud portfolio can drive business value. You will have established relationship and cadence with key Google Cloud and VMware stakeholders
  • Within 90 days of employment, you will have a sales strategy and execution plan for your assigned territory at 125% of your target. You will be regularly meeting with your customer base to discover how our technology solution can help them to achieve their desired business outcomes.
  • Within 120 days of employment, you will have closed at least three opportunities with a customer and have built 5x pipeline
  • Within 180 days of employment, you will be consistently prospecting as well as progressing your existing opportunities with VMware core sellers, Google Cloud sales specialists and/or Partners' sales teams.
  • Within 360 days along with the above, you will have successfully sold multiple deals and attained the quota goal that was established for your territory

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Be the front-line specialist taking responsibility for driving new business and developing a clear sales strategy to meet set sales targets within given timelines
  • Deliver consultative sales experience especially around the adoption of cloud services in the infrastructure space
  • Be a key contributor in building & closing multi-million cloud opportunities in full synergy with Google and/or Partners
  • Collaborating regularly and skilfully orchestrate internal and external resources to support customer needs, sales strategy, and overall business growth. These include but not limited to VMware and Google account teams, specialists, technical, marketing, and professional services as well as Partners' sales and delivery teams
  • Hunting/Prospecting – sending messages via email, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, cold calling, and leveraging existing relationships to broker net new meetings

Where is this role located?

We would prefer this candidate be based in Sydney, however we are open to Melbourne as well.
