SENIOR GAME ANIMATOR

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Game Animator is the visual anchor of the gaming arts. This individual sets the aesthetic tone for project, with a keen awareness of aligning game mechanics and experience with market trends, emerging technologies, and consumer interests. This experienced partner balances visual richness with relevancy to player and can inspire by solution and attention to details that matter. A Senior Game Animator will act in a mentoring role for other artists, push to accelerate new pipelines and emerging methodologies, all while founded on core artistic principles of color, composition, and light. This role partners with all areas of game development but is a primary member of the art team to setting rich visual benchmarks and pioneer new market pinnacles. This position reports to the Art Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be the visual architect of the games and features
• Storyboard, research, conceptualize, and rapid iterations of ideas
• File set up in Spine and Adobe After Effects (3d a plus)
• Animation and motion graphics using Spine and Adobe After effects. (3d a plus)
• Brainstorm and research theme ideas and develop artistic direction for games

consistent with the products’ intended purpose

• Provide mentoring, instruction, and direction for junior-level artists
• Stay current in market styles, mechanics, presentation shifts, and feature showcase
• Support and conduct open reviews and feedback sessions for art team
• Establish and refine Art Production workflow and best practices.
• Partner with game Artists and Producers on overall vision of the product.
• Work to complete projects to meet scheduled dates setting tone for art team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment a must.
• Plus - Understand 2D/3D modeling and texture mapping solutions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education / Experience:

• BS College degree in Graphic Art or Design
• 8-10+ years of experience in Casino or Video Game Development

Knowledge and Skills:

• Expert knowledge in Art Design, graphics, composition, and branding
• Proficient in Spine, After effects, Trapcode, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Dependable, hardworking creative with a drive for success.
• Strong attention to detail regarding Animation, Composition, and Color.
• Excellent communicator - both written and oral.
• Excellent skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Spine, and After Effects
• Strong attention to detail animation, composition, color, contrast, and visual relevancy
• Experience working and building scenes in runtime engine ie. Unity or Unreal
• Able to work unsupervised while maintaining a high-level of productivity.
• Experience with asset optimization challenges/techniques, and data management
• Must be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary
• Plus - 3D Modeling and Texturing experience, Maya, Max, or similar

Successful candidate may need to obtain and maintain gaming licensure where required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
