The Role
The ALS IT department in Stafford on Brisbane’s north side, is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our infrastructure team.

This role is a challenging opportunity for you to bring your knowledge and experience to bear in our rapidly changing business. The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise in a mix of operational support and project delivery work for enterprise environments across the APAC region.

The day to day
You’re a seasoned and passionate technology professional who enjoys solving problems and is eager to take ownership of your area of technical expertise to make a positive impact in a growing and changing environment.

You're experienced in the build and deployment of technology infrastructure within an enterprise environment and you’re well-versed in communicating technical solutions in ways understandable to both business management and technology professionals alike.

You continually look for better ways of doing things through process or technology, using automation tools and other solutions to make yours and your peers experience easier. You enjoy mentoring other staff to help them upskill, and you don’t mind writing technical documentation when required.

You can handle pressure well, have excellent prioritisation and time management skills, and have a strong breadth of technical knowledge.

You can demonstrate suitable experience and qualifications, having had at least 3 years’ experience as a Senior Engineer in a similar environment, as well as a degree and/or related industry certifications.

Experience and technical skillsets for the role
Design, recommend, implement and administer complex technical platforms and services including but not limited to:

• Microsoft Hyper-V Platform
• Microsoft Azure and O365 administration
• Windows Server 2016/2019, including: AD, DHCP, DFS, File/Print, Replication, Storage, Clustering
• Microsoft SCCM
• HP Servers and SAN
• Securing and hardening of environments (knowledge of CIS benchmarks highly desired)
• Backups (knowledge of Veeam highly desired)
• Citrix XenApp
• SolarWinds Monitoring

The essentials
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

• 3+ years’ experience as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer supporting a large, distributed enterprise environment.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
• Availability to work flexibly, including outside business hours when required.
• Availability for occasional local and interstate travel to meet operational requirements (where permitted).
• Vendor certifications in relevant technologies and/or tertiary qualifications in technology.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of project management and ITIL frameworks would be advantageous.
