Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is a broad one suitable for a self-driven, adaptable and highly capable individual who will partner with all lines of service to deliver performance insights and lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts and period end Financial KPI Dashboards. You will also assist in building and maintaining appropriate models to support the Financial Control Team’s brief, including pricing / breakeven modelling, valuations, scenario analyses and ad-hoc projects as required.

As a critical business partner, you will be expected to build and maintain excellent relationships with managers and key stakeholders throughout the business to ensure that financial performance is well understood and managed.

THE ROLE

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Responsible for leading the Management Accounting team, ensuring the team is highly engaged and high performing
  • Custodian of Amana Living’s budgeting and financial reporting models
  • Responsible for delivery of timely and accurate monthly management reporting, partnering closely with the business to understand financial performance, including:
    • Identifying and analysing variances (actual to budget/actual to forecast), partnering closely with cost centre managers to understand results and trends, business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business to identify issues, risks and implement improvement opportunities
    • Provision of finance training and support to operational staff to enhance their understanding of the results and trends
  • Lead the organisations forecasting and budget processes, including:
    • Partnering with operations to model key revenue and cost drivers
    • Provision of training and support to operational staff in the use of budget templates to assist the budget process, and
    • Administration of the budgeting system
  • Development and maintenance of data models to support decision making and performance analysis, including trend analysis, benchmarking and project modelling
  • Develops and maintains a long term and short-term cash flow forecast
  • Supports the month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement, leading through innovation and always looking for a better way to deliver

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to analyse, interpret and communicate complex information to a diverse audience. You will have exceptional attention to detail and show the initiative and ability to respond to situations as they arise.

Essential Criteria

  • 5+ years direct experience in a management accounting, budgeting or analytical role
  • CA / CPA qualified or Australia recognised equivalent with relevant professional memberships
  • Excel financial modelling experience and Power BI
  • Prior experience using Accounting ERPs (Epicor desirable) and Budgeting Tools (Anaplan desirable)
  • Knowledge of Aged Care and related reporting requirements (desirable)
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
