Yurika has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Overhead & Underground Design Engineer, and are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.

The role may be based at any major Queensland location.

The role:

Reporting to the Design Manager, the Senior Overhead & Underground Design Engineer is responsible for applying technical expertise, RPEQ governance and mentorship for the delivery of overhead and underground detailed design solutions for HV infrastructure projects. The role also requires detailed knowledge, understanding and application of utility requirements to provide cost effective fit for purpose project solutions.

The candidate:

Critical to your success in the role is your demonstrated experience in design engineering and approval of overhead transmission and distribution networks.

Additionally, you will have:

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering acceptable for IEA membership in the Professional Engineering category;
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) is essential, or otherwise hold CPEng and are eligible to obtain RPEQ status;
• Level 3 Accredited Service Provider (ASP3) qualification is highly desirable;
• Demonstrated detailed technical knowledge and experience in engineering design principles and practices, utility requirements and standards, construction, and maintenance required for HV infrastructure projects, with a sound knowledge of the associated civil and structural requirements;
• Demonstrated knowledge of Overhead and Underground lines design, construction and installation requirements;
• Demonstrated knowledge of Safe Design principles and safety requirements for HV infrastructure and associated plant & equipment, including relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and standards and their application to HV design.

The position has been evaluated as Professional & Managerial Grade Three (PM3). Remuneration will range from $162,705 to $202,453 per annum (inclusive of superannuation). The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.
