The Opportunity
The Senior Project Manager – Major Projects plans and manages the refurbishment and new-build programs of Major Projects and other OTR sites. They are responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget, to a standard of excellence.

Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and/or approve project plans, briefs and budgets for major and new OTR store construction projects
- Develop and prepare procurement strategies, outlining construction processes and tender requirements that will improve the way Peregrine Corporation Infrastructure (PCI) delivers projects with respect to quality, time and cost
- Implement new designs with the Development Team
- Monitor, track and liaise with internal partners and contractors to ensure projects are completed to specification, on time and within budget
- Continuously seek to provide efficiencies and innovation in project delivery through the tender and construction processes
- Propose, trial and deliver on innovative construction methods that lead to better project outcomes in respect to time and cost
- Manage all safety requirements during construction across all projects to ensure our people return home safely each day
- Oversee the completion of construction to ensure the required Engineering specifications, Australian Standards, quality and safety standards are satisfied
- Coordinate handover of sites from previous owners when necessary
- Facilitate a seamless handover of completed sites to the Operations Team
- Act as second in charge to the Construction Manager (as required)
- Coach, supervise and mentor project managers (as required) and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Work with contractors to facilitate continuous improvement and WHS standards
- Evaluate and negotiate tenders to meet expectations in terms of construction costs, start dates and timeframes
- Proactively engage with other departments to achieve project outcomes
- A risk mitigation plan is maintained with clear actions and mitigations
- Lessons learned are captured and utilised to improve project practices and processes
- Any other tasks as requested from time to time
The successful candidate will possess:
- A tertiary qualification in Architecture or related discipline coupled with a proven track record of delivering projects of $20 million+
- You will have extensive experience as a Construction Project Manager working on-site on multiple projects and a record of delivering great project outcomes.
- A proven ability to delegate tasks and problem solve using a creative but pragmatic approach
- Ability to read and interpret architects' plans
- Working knowledge of planning and constructions codes
- Be prepared to travel to regional locations for supervising site work
- Current drivers licence
- Ability to write high quality precision reports, meeting notes, and to present to groups
- Proven performance in managing and meeting programmed objectives within financial parameters and corporate requirements.
- Proven performance in the preparation and administration of tender/contract documentation.
- The ability to lead and mentor less experienced staff members and encourage their career progression
