About the Program and the Role
The 99 Steps program is designed to improve pathways for individuals and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to easily access appropriate support services that assist in the prevention and recovery of domestic and family violence (DFV). The program also assists women and families to transition out of crisis support and re-engage with the local community, workforce and wider supports. The team consists of a Service Delivery Manager DFV, DFV practitioners, a support worker and administration support.
You will provide knowledge and skills to assess and prioritise the safety and well-being of women and children through all stages and elements of case planning with understanding of evidence based practices for working with people experiencing and/or escaping domestic and family violence.
Leading a team, you will actively participate in the strategic and operational management of service delivery to ensure that all clients are supported emotionally and practically with a focus on continued safety. A key leadership role where you will be responsible for promoting positive culture, workplace health and well-being and driving organisational achievements against strategic plans.
The main deliverables are (but not limited to);
- Ensuring compliance with all contract conditions of the DFV program, as assessed through service and financial audits
- Assisting to develop and implement systems and program reviews and implement and monitor service improvements
- Ensuring risk is managed effectively in a safe and timely manner and supported referrals made as needed
- Providing monthly reports to the Head of Health Services detailing the nature and quality of services delivered and outcomes
- Supervising and managing DFV practitioners in case management support and counselling provided for women from CALD background who are impacted by domestic and family violence
- Ensuring that risk assessment is conducted within the DFV Risk Assessment and Safety Planning Framework
- Budgeting, ensuring that expenditure does not exceed income. Authorisation of PO's and invoices
- Ensuring work practices are ethical and comply
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- You possess relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences or humanities discipline, and/or demonstrated ability in a similar program management role.
- You have demonstrated ability and previous experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of domestic and family violence and early intervention services and programs.
- You have an in-depth understanding of the issues faced by users of the domestic violence services, particularly within a CALD setting and an ability to proactively develop partnerships, strategies, targeted intervention programs and support services.
- You possess a strong knowledge and understanding of the multicultural sector including relevant government policies and programs.
- You excel in leadership and people management and have the ability to effectively coach, mentor and motivate multi-disciplinary teams and other stakeholders.
- Your organisational and management skills are of a high order plus you have the ability to plan, budget, manage staff and evaluate funding program delivery.
- You have highly developed advocacy and negotiation skills used to represent ACSL in a professional and positive manner to external bodies
