The Bowen Group, a values-led, industry leader in telehealth, strategic communications, and wellness services and staffing is searching for a Social Media Manager. This is a full-time position at the government site in Falls Church, VA.

CORE FUNCTIONS:
The specific contract daily activities include:
    • Develops a comprehensive social media strategy to educate Military Health System beneficiaries about the TRICARE health program and other information they need to know.
    • Leads the development, management, and growth of TRICARE social media accounts on FB, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube; proposes retirement of existing platforms or addition of new platforms based on industry best practices.
    • Uses best practices to increase audience engagement, details for engaging the beneficiary audience and engaging and leveraging influencers, and providing analysis of social media to inform larger communications efforts.
    • Creates and executes monthly and targeted social media plans for TRICARE platforms.
    • Leads the planning, management of execution of live social media events as requested (e.g., Twitter chats, FB Live, webinars, etc.) at least quarterly.
    • Participates in group forums inside and outside of the Military Health System (approximately three times per month).
    • Makes recommendations to the government social media manager for new policies or updates to existing policies pertaining to social media platform administration and management.
    • Ensures completeness, correctness, and readability of materials, as well as alignment of individual materials to overall organizational or program communication goals.
    • Specializes in using social media and government platforms for content dissemination.
    • Originates and prepares written or other digital material, such as scripts, posts, stories, and other material.

Skills in:
    • Leveraging the company’s project management system to coordinate the execution of contract projects and deliverables using a cross-functional team approach.
    • Managing schedules and coordinating projects performed by a cross-functional team.
    • Coordinating and facilitating client and internal team meetings in person and via teleconference.
    • Applying the rules of spelling, composition, and grammar to writing or editing tasks.
    • Following specific style guides while writing and editing content.

Ability to:
    • Manage client expectations and project prioritization.
    • Support the development of required weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual client reports.
    • Communicate effectively in writing to meet the needs of the audience.

Project Management
Plan or coordinate the operations of the project team. Formulate team strategies, assist in daily operations.

Customer Management
Plan or coordinate the distribution of deliverables or services to the customer. Coordinate contract requirements with the project team, determine the preferences of customers and monitor the progress of the collaboration.

Quality Assurance Regulation
Support quality assurance programs. Support quality control policies and procedures through adherence to quality standards.

Education and Work Experience:
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5 or more years of experience, or a Master’s Degree in a related field and 3 or more years of experience.
  • - Work Experience: 3 -5 years experience including management.

Industry Knowledge:
    • Social media management tools.
    • Structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
    • Applicable style guides, such as the Associated Press Stylebook.
    • Methods of tracking and maintaining version control.
    • Administrative and clerical procedures in accordance with the company’s best practices.
    • Terms and concepts commonly expressed in the Armed Services and federal government.
    • Ability to work independently.
