Blue Raven Solar is seeking a Regional Install Manager to manage crews on solar installation projects for our market in the Indianapolis, IN region. They will be responsible for leading our teams in the installation of grid-tied solar PV systems and for communicating job status data to management on a consistent basis. Candidates for this position should be reliable, able to lead others, be highly skilled and experienced in residential PV installation, and place a high value on quality work. Regional Installation Managers are Blue Raven Solar management in the field, and have a high level of responsibility placed on their shoulders.

• $65-80k salaried, depending on experience, plus a per panel bonus

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and technical expertise for the PV installation crews
• Communicate the necessary job status information to the project management team to assure the successful operation of complete and working systems
• Lead efforts for safe working practices for entire installation team
• Perform mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules, and electrical equipment along with the wiring of solar array (AC and DC)
• Document completion of each installation with pictures

Qualifications:

• Residential solar installation (3+ years) or construction experience (4+ years) required
• Electrical experience (state license preferred but not required)
• Construction management experience
• OSHA 10 or higher
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Must be comfortable working at heights in various weather and roof conditions
• Must follow direction by superiors to complete the tasks assigned

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the work is performed in a professional and workmanlike manner to conform to existing national and local building codes.
• Work cooperatively with team members to complete residential solar installations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issues.
• Lead the installation of electrical systems that interconnect the solar array to the grid.
• Ensure work performed is of good workmanship and compliant with current NEC and local codes.
• Work with crew members and homeowners to fulfill any necessary system troubleshooting to support solar equipment installation.

Qualifications:

• Possession of a journeyman electrician license.
• Working knowledge of current NEC codes.
• Must have working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels.
• PV Solar installation experience is preferred but not required.
• Must be experienced with all required hand/power tools associated with the electrical trade.
• Ability to read and interpret single line drawings.
• Must be comfortable working from ladders and at heights.Location: Indianapolis, IN

A great candidate is an individual with experience on our around work sites supervising multiple individuals. An install crew lead must possess a strong situational awareness to safely and efficiently guide the daily install process.

The Install Crew Lead will need to have excellent time management and communication skills while being flexible and adaptable to our ever changing, fast-paced work environment. A strong candidate for this role will be great with customers and experienced at ensuring a high quality installation is produced at every home. Work is primarily conducted at our customer’s homes in the local area but occasional travel is required. Periodic weekend or evening work may also be required, depending on workload.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF OUR INSTALL CREW LEAD

• Supervise and lead a crew of 2-4 installers on a daily basis
• Maintain heightened awareness of safety risks and implement appropriate ORM procedures
• Ensure quick and efficient installation of systems while providing excellent customer service
• Ability to spend time with a customer explaining the work and system to be installed
• Coordinate with fleet management as needed
• Ensure that job sites are clean and presentable during and after installation
• Motivate and support install crew and resolve concerns as needed

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR INSTALL CREW LEAD

• 1+ years of experience with residential or commercial solar installation
• Experience as a lead, as well as experience working with AC wiring preferred
• Must be familiar with PV systems and varied install locations and troubleshooting
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must possess prior site construction experience and familiarity with construction site safety practices
