The Opportunity
As a Solution Architect, you will:
- Define end-to-end architectural solutions,
- Collaborate with your squad and SMEs, and apply your breadth of knowledge and technical expertise to assist and govern the squad
- Help product owners with cost benefit analysis, risk analysis and development plans that take design decisions into account.
- Guide and influence business stakeholders and product owners, including internal consultancy on architectural issues and provision of recommendations.
- Be a trusted adviser to the business and technology stakeholders, as well as your peers.
- Contribute to the architecture craft continuous improvement.
You will be assigned to 1 or more initiatives at any one time, and possibly across multiple domains within the enterprise, such as customer & adviser channels and enterprise / corporate services.
Your Story
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate an excellent proficiency in the following capabilities:
- Good experience in architecting complete multi-tier solutions end-to-end across cloud technologies (AWS, PaaS, SaaS, etc), that deliver on the business requirements / user stories and take into consideration typical non-functional requirements.
- Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the underlying technology stacks across policy administration systems, integration, operational workflows, operational data stores, customer, and adviser channels, and more.
- Your continuous learning and improvement mindset and collaboration skills are critical to your success in this role.
- Solid communication and written skills: you can communicate complex ideas and technical information in a concise and clear manner that the business and IT audience understand.
- Delivery focused and can prioritise your own work.
- Ability to work under pressure, and on multiple initiatives at any one time
- You have a solid track record as a solution architect who has owned end-to-end the solution architecture of medium to complex initiatives.
- You have recent experience as a solution architect in one or more of the following areas: digital (customer or adviser secure portals), contact/call centre, marketing, CRM, correspondence generation.
- You have recent experience in the following technologies: AWS cloud architecture, AWS Lambda, Azure Event Hub, and more.
- Knowledge of Life Insurance, Superannuation and Investment products and processes is recommended.
- Experience in Agile methodology led projects is recommended
