About the role:
The SWISH and StEPS Coordinator role will support the roll out of the newborn hearing services and 4 year old eye screens within the Western NSW LHD. This role works in partnership with maternity services and early childhood education settings.
The NSW Statewide Eyesight Preschooler Screening (StEPS) Program is an initiative of the NSW Health and offers all 4 year old children a free vision screening assessment.
The NSW Statewide Infant Screening Hearing (SWIS-H) Program aims to identify babies born with a significant hearing loss and introduce them to appropriate services as soon as possible.
This is a targeted position in accordance with GSE Rule 26: Employment of eligible persons. Whereby Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply and, where found suitable, will be given higher priority under affirmative action in order to improve access to employment and career opportunities. In the event there are no suitable Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants, then applications from non-Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants will be considered.
