Fairfield Hospital is recruiting for a Sterilisation Technician (Grade 2) to complement and enhance the current Sterilising Services Department. What you'll be doing
The purpose of Grade 2 Sterilisation Technician is to provide a quality customer service by undertaking the operational activities performed by the Sterilising Services Department, for the process of reusable medical devices in accordance with AS/NZS4187:2014. This position requires a sound level of experience with ability to work independently, under general supervision and provides support to Grade 1 Sterilising Technicians. Reprocessing Dental and Endoscopy equipment is an advantage.
How to Apply

- Certificate II or III in Health Service Assistance (Sterilisation Services) or equivalent.
- Experience working in a Hospital Sterilising Services Department with sound knowledge and understanding of AS/NZS4187:2014, Infection Prevention and Control and WH&S requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as an integral team member under the guidance of a Staff Supervisor for the process of complex medical devices including Orthopaedic loan equipment.
- Ability to prioritise and communicate workload to achieve quality and timely process outcomes.
- Commitment to providing a quality customer service by ensuring a focused approach for best practice and patient outcomes.
- Sound communication ability with a high standard of written and verbal skills to ensure effective listening, understanding and following direction.
- Basic computer skills with ability to learn electronic tracking and Health related programs.
- On completion of training and competency assessment, ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and Public Holidays for the provision of a 7 day service to the Peri-Operative Services Department.
