Summary:
The summer internship position will be working within the Data Science and Strategy at Ferring. Candidates will use big data working on carefully selected projects to help confirm what they learned at school, build further knowledge and make contribution toward Ferring’s business. Candidates will have the opportunities to learn more on complex healthcare data sets, gain understanding on subjects like payer plan formulary, healthcare provider landscape and sales practices, and to explore ideas that could improve business performance. At the end of the intern program, the candidate will make a presentation to therapeutic business leaders.
Responsibilities may include: (Project/Objective specific)
Project: Big Data Mining and Identify Factors that Contribute toward Menopur’s Sales Growth
  • Use patient claim data to explore the factors that contributed to the growth of Menopur Rx volume over past 10 years.
  • Work on cloud environment and use Python/PySpark tools to mine and visualize big data.
  • Work together with senior data scientists to build model to assess the contributions from each factor, the sustainability of the growth and present final findings.
Requirements:
  • Enrolled in a graduate degree program in quantitative discipline such as data science, statistics, or engineering
  • Basic programming skills in Python and SQL required
  • Must be able to work onsite at the Parsippany, NJ office 3 days per week
Standard Requirements for all intern positions:
  • Ability to complete the entire 10-week session (from May 30, 2023 to August 4, 2023) and commit to 33.75 hours per week
  • Time off (i.e. summer vacations) should be arranged to take place before the program begins or after the program ends
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; college transcript required
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Pass a drug screen and background check
  • Virtual Interview(s) with HR and Hiring Manager
  • Complete and successfully pass all compliance modules
  • Final presentation to senior management at the end of the 10-week session (mandatory)
