About the role

We are looking for a Superintendent Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) with both engineering and maintenance leadership experience to strategically lead the Hope Downs MEM team to implement transformational change to become the best MEM team in the world.

Reporting to the Greater Hope Downs MEM Manager and working in a challenging and exciting environment you will be:

• Demonstrating a personal commitment and passion for safety.
• An engaging and inspirational leader to transform the safety culture to become an interdependent culture.
• Fostering a culture of both step-change transformation as well as continuous improvement.
• Experienced in Reliability and Maintenance Engineering Best Practice with prior experience in engineering leadership roles. You will hold a suitable engineering qualification backed by solid industry experience.
• Experienced in Mobile Maintenance with prior maintenance and planning leadership experience at a supervisor and superintendent level.

In addition to the above, this role will provide regular site leadership coverage and support all departments across site offering the successful candidate exposure to a variety of work fronts.

What you’ll bring

• A passion for your people and genuine care for their safety and wellbeing

• Confident in effectively leading, mentoring and coaching team members as well as interfacing with senior leaders, with a desire to build and lead engaged teams
• A can-do pragmatic attitude with a structured approach to delivering strategic objectives
• A track record of engineering experience in Maintenance and Reliability Engineering, backed by a suitable engineering qualification
• Experience in both maintenance planning and maintenance execution with prior leadership experience at supervisor and superintendent level.
• A minimum of two years in frontline leadership roles
• A minimum of one year’s experience at superintendent level
• A current Australian driver's license

Located 50km north-west of Newman, Hope Downs is a joint venture managed and operated by Rio Tinto, working in conjunction with nearby site Hope Downs 1. Hope Downs 4 provides excellent career growth and opportunities and the village provides excellent facilities for its FIFO workers.
