Requirements:
High School graduate or GED preferred
Previous hospital experience preferred
CPR
Must have current licensure/certifications upon hire. New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required CPR.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physically demanding, high stress environment, must be able to lift a minimum of 10-20lbs, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Summary: The Surgery Turnover Technician terminally cleans the operating rooms between cases and at the end of the day and cleans other areas within the surgery unit. The turnover tech transports surgical patients and hospital beds as assigned. Able to work independently and good communication skills. Accomplish other tasks as assigned. Follows guidelines, policies and safety requirements as determined by all relevant regulatory and standard setting agencies or organizations. Practices within the system and departmental policies and procedures
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Surgery Turnover Technician is under the direct supervision of the Surgery Team Lead/Charge Nurse. Administratively the Surgery Turnover Technician reports to The Director of Surgical Services and follows the chain of command as established by facility.

OSHA TASK CATEGORY ONE: There is an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills splashes during the performance of the job. Universal precautions must be observed, and protective devices worn by the employee when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
