JOB SUMMARY:

Prepares operating rooms for surgery using appropriate techniques. Provides technical services and assists in operating room, Endoscopy Suite, and Sterile Processing as assigned and directed.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment.
  • Assists the surgical team during operative procedures.
  • Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedures.
  • Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning. Monitors and restocks supplies.
  • Drapes patients for surgical procedures.
  • Maintains and cares for equipment and supplies. Documents maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs.
  • Consistently provides accurate and complete hand-off communication to any healthcare provider according to hospital policy.
  • Attends 80% of all department meetings and required to review and initial all department minutes missed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Position Shift:

  • Full-time (40 hours/week), day shift.
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus (does not apply to current employees or candidates who have worked for Vanderbilt within the last year)

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and < 1 year relevant experience.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):

  • BLS Required
