About the role

We are looking for a Technical Officer (Tester) to undertake work; including a variety of calibration, diagnostic testing and measurement services during construction, operation and maintenance to electrical protection and control equipment and electrical plant on the United Energy Network completing operating and maintenance work. The role is based in Bangholme.

• Provide diagnostic testing and maintenance services on a wide variety of electrical protection and control equipment, and primary plant.
• Coordinate testing activities with internal & external customers
• Prepare work records and reports as required, including input into databases and work hours/daily work records
• Comply with flexible work practices to meet system needs, including multi-skilling
• Ensure that they maintain all the required training and authorisations in date at all times
• Receive and provide on the job training as required
• Undertake availability duties

About you

• 2 years of relevant experience eg. Protection and Control Testers or HV Cable Testers
• Advanced Diploma of ESI – Power systems or equivalent qualification
• Strong technical knowledge and skills of Distribution system primary plant/secondary system commissioning and maintenance.
• Self-motivated and ability to work alone
• Ability to act with decisiveness to ensure network security and public safety
• Ability to compare information from different sources to draw conclusions, and select an appropriate course of action
• Ability and initiative to identify the critical resources necessary to achieve desired objectives

Please note, you will be required to possess a current Australian Driver’s Licence as travel between sites will be required.
