A leading ecology focused federal government agency in Townsville and Cairns are seeking a Technical Solutions Analyst to work on a cross-agency data focused program from either location!
Your new role
Your new role will see you work within a professional and dedicated multi-disciplinary technology team comprised of Data Analysts/Engineers, ecology SME’s (Subject Matter Experts) and Technical Leads to work on a well known externally facing (and data oriented) system used by thousands across the North/Far-North QLD region.
Within this team you will oversee all current and proposed technical solutions aimed at enhancing and revamping this system across a multitude of technical areas with a focus on spatial and data visualization projects. You will actively source and coordinate with a multitude of internal/external resources (federal agencies, engineers, suppliers, vendors etc.) alongside gathering requirements, leading the procurement of digital/technical services and conducting project management activities for each technical solution.
You will also advise senior management on best technical practices, conduct high level technical designs and system configurations, delegating project work to corresponding teams and managing milestones/release windows. Overall you will focus on maturing this agencies data analytics and visualization capabilities to deliver an enhanced user experience for this online public facing and data centric system on time and within budget in accordance with this federal governments standards.
What you'll need to succeed
For this role you will need:
- A technical mind set and capabilities
- A variety of data analytical, visualisation and management technologies/environments
- High level technical design and leadership
- Team and project coordination (including project management)
- Supplier/vendor/MSP management and liaison
- Working within the Federal, State and/or Local government (not a necessity but would be a bonus)
- Clear communication skills (written and oral)
- Full Australian working rights
