Position: Oklahoma Christian University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member in Engineering to teach classes, mentor senior capstone projects, and advise students. Additional responsibilities may include delivering chapel devotionals, supporting recruiting and accreditation efforts, and collaborating with local industries.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with significant industry experience; Ph.D. strongly preferred.
  • Preferred areas of expertise: Wireless Communications, Networking Engineering, Software Systems, and/or Control Systems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with undergraduate students, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to communicate and positively engage students and colleagues across racial, gender, and cultural barriers.
  • A successful candidate must be an active member of a local Church.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Teach undergrad courses based on the department's needs and the faculty member's expertise. Create and maintain appropriate educational records to document students' academic performance, observing appropriate confidentiality.
  • Service: Academic advising as assigned, engagement in recruiting activities, and serving on university committees that contribute to the academic, spiritual and social quality of campus life and help fulfill faculty responsibility in a shared governance model. Hold regular office hours for student aid and advisement. Maintain membership and active involvement in a local church. Complete formal assessment and improvement projects as a part of regular ABET accreditation processes.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship to individual students and senior capstone projects, including discipline-related and service-oriented groups. Provide feedback and recommendations for students seeking employment.
  • Scholarship: Initiate and sustain activities necessary to be current in the discipline and innovative in pedagogical methods and technology. Engage in a scholarly activity designed to advance human knowledge and understanding, such as research, writing, and intellectual dialogue. Collegially contribute to positive work and learning environment for the department and the university.
