About the role

Reporting to the Head of Trade Planning, you lead the development and execution of the Coles customer calendar Trade Plan within a category, identifying trading risks and opportunities.

As a Trade Planning Manager, you are an essential conduit between Category team Marketing, Digital, Store Operations and our Suppliers. You are basically the linchpin that ensures our annual customer/ trade plan is executed.

Partnering with key stakeholders in the business to develop the Customer first trade plan and develop themes and focuses for the category to deliver customer loyalty and engagement. You will manage category value index by banner with Business Category Manager to ensure Trade Plan is grounded in customer value metrics and ensure the trade plan is delivered through the line as per customer calendar.


You’ll also:

  • Lead the development of the annual category trade plan process for your category
  • Align promotional calendar with customer calendar to deliver an integrated plan
  • Deep dive insights to understand opportunities for growth within each category
  • Own the end to end execution from planning to in store execution


About you and your skills

We’re looking for a trade planning leader with proven experience in building and executing a trade plan, ideally gained in a retail or FMCG environment. Liquor experience preferred.

You’ll also need:

  • strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels and work cross-functionally
  • high attention to detail, along with strong organisational and planning skills
  • strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience in understating insights & trends to build a trade plan
  • experience in negotiating and able to influence positive business outcomes.
  • advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • ability to present to stakeholders at all levels across the business with strong articulation of the what, why and how
