About Barton Private Hospital
Barton Private Hospital is fully licensed with ACT health protective services and accredited with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS Standards) We have a team of skilled medical professionals dedicated to providing the highest standard of care for patients. Our facility has 3 fully equipped Operating theatres with the latest technology. The hospital is situated in the heart of the Parliamentary Triangle in Canberra.
We are seeking an experienced Wards Person for a casual position to provide support to the nursing team to undertake a range of services that supports the well-being of patients, visitors, staff and others.
To be successful in your application for this position, you will have:
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
- Be empathetic and courteous at all times
- The ability to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- An enthusiastic approach in the delivery of a high standard of care
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in a Wards Person Service or similar position
- Demonstrated knowledge of manual handling techniques, including patient transfers.
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of surface cleaning practices and techniques including infection
- control
- Demonstrated ability to work in a manner which preserves patient confidentiality and
- Dignity
- Current BLS
- Displays exemplary communication skills
- Displays a willingness & flexible approach to work requirements and change in work practices
- Displays a positive attitude and approach to working as part of a team
- A positive approach to working safely
