Role Description

As a GFiber Webpass Residential Installation Technician you will meet our customers in their homes and perform all the aspects of setting up internet service and devices to the customers' satisfaction.

In this role, you'll:

  • Provide troubleshooting and problem solving solutions to customer connectivity issues
  • Perform various role related tasks and maintain scheduled appointments
  • Effectively communicate with internal teams and our partners
  • Owns the end to end customer installation process for basic residential installations
  • Leverages foundational knowledge and core abilities necessary to complete basic residential installations, including installing and testing Ethernet jacks, making any required cross connects, and performing all installations, maintenance, disconnects and troubleshooting in Webpass residential buildings.
  • Executes well defined processes and procedures requiring attention to detail; and understands how and when to escalate.
  • Collaborates with the team to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both internally with colleagues and externally during customer interactions.
  • On-call rotations as needed; understands urgency and prioritization.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • 1 year of Customer Service experience in any industry.
  • Ability to terminate ethernet connections on jacks, and 66 and 110 connector blocks.
  • Excellent verbal communication and time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of home networking equipment, wifi routers, switches, VoIP devices, Roku, AppleTV, etc.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

It's preferred if you have:

  • A fundamental knowledge of how wireless and ethernet networks work.
  • Ability to work on wall plates near the floor or behind or under furniture.
  • 1+ year of experience with twisted pair copper cabling.
  • Technical school or technical training .
  • Complete understanding of the physical layer, twisted pair copper cabling, 66 blocks, 110 blocks, patch panels, fiber optic cabling, Copper BICSI 1, etc.
