Weed Control Labourer

Council is seeking to appoint a maximum term full time weed control labourer to contribute to Council’s success. This is a full time maximum term role with a projected end date of Friday 23 December 2022.

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to undertake practical application of pest management services, Biosecurity matter and locally declared species, on Council controlled areas.

Essential criteria

1. Knowledge of and experience in pest management, including weed identification and associated control methods (foliar spraying, basal bark spraying, cut stump spraying and boom spraying).

2. Agricultural Chemical Distribution Control (ACDC) Unrestricted Commercial Operators Licence.

3. Current Traffic Management Implementation.

4. Effective communication and literacy skills to liaise with customers and employees, and accurately document and record information.

5. Experience in the operation and basic maintenance of relevant plant and equipment.

6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

7. Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.

8. Experience and competency operating under a current Medium Rigid (MR) licence.
