Your contribution
The Workforce Manager is a leadership role within the hospital, responsible for the managerial and administrative oversight of the Nursing & Midwifery Workforce Unit. This role will be critical in ensuring the Workforce Unit is able to effectively manage and backfill our daily nursing and midwifery unplanned vacancies, with the use of permanent and casual bank roles, in a coordinated and collaborative approach.
Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Work closely with Managers and Team Leaders to ensure regular forward planning of vacancies
- Manage all external recruitment to the casual workforce for clinical and non-clinical staff
- Contribute to the development and growth of the Nursing & Midwifery Workforce Unit
- Provide clinical leadership for casual bank staff to develop and maintain their clinical skills required to work across multiple work areas
- Be accountable for ensuring that adequate staffing with appropriately qualified and credentialed staff is achieved in accordance with legislative and industrial requirements
- Ensure that all staff are supported to work professionally, safely and effectively, in accordance with RWH evidence-based guidelines, and relevant professional standards
About you
To be successful within this role you will need to have:
- AHPRA Division One registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Nurse / Midwife
- Demonstrated leadership experience in Nursing or Midwifery senior management
- Demonstrated public sector experience and knowledge of contemporary nursing and midwifery issues
- Demonstrated experience in developing and leading a team
- Extensive experience with recruitment and workforce management
- A track record in budget management and achieving budgetary targets
- Demonstrated ability to provide coordination for dispersed staff working within various areas of a hospital

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
Please be aware that in line with the Health Minister's Covid-19 Mandatory Vaccination Order, all workers at the Women's regardless of role, will be required to be fully vaccinated (3 doses) for COVID-19 or hold an acceptable medical exemption.
Influenza Vaccination Requirement
In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.
As this role fits into category A or B of the departments risk ratings, applicants will be required to have been vaccinated against influenza. Evidence of vaccination is required.
