About the role

Working with the Heritage Specialist Planner you will be responsible for providing supervised research and heritage item and area inventory updates.

Key Duties

• Prepare heritage inventories for heritage items and conservation areas with researched history, description, photographs, significance assessment and other details
• Undertake historical place research
• Assist with the facilitation of Council’s Heritage Reference Committee

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Completed or currently studying towards a degree in heritage conservation
• Class C drivers’ license
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Historic building or place research
• Ability to act pro-actively and with discretion and confidentiality
• Computer skills, including ability to use heritage database web app or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of planning policy, NSW planning legislation and heritage conservation principles
• Report writing skills and basic administration
