About the opportunity

The purpose of this role is to to provide patient support services to patients. This service contributes to the total health care needs and expectations of patients of the NSW Health system. Click here to find out more.

There are multiple Exempt (up to 8 months contract) positions graded as a Hospital Assistant Grade 2 with an annual salary of $50,876.71 (Plus 10.5% superannuation). Location, John Hunter Hospital.

Vaccination Requirements

This is a NSW Health Category A position, which requires immunisation against the following:

  • Whooping Cough
  • Hepatitis B
  • Measles / Mumps / Rubella
  • Chicken Pox
  • Screening for Tuberculosis
  • COVID-19 Vaccinations

If you have current evidence of these vaccinations, please include them to help us fast-track your application. Your current vaccination status does not impact on your eligibility for this role, but please be aware that vaccine non-compliance could slow down your application progress. If you are the preferred candidate, you will be responsible for covering the costs of any remaining vaccination requirements. For more information read the NSW Health OASV Policy.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

If you are the preferred candidate, you will also need to complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment, with costs covered by HealthShare NSW.
