About the Team
Transport’s Regional and Outer Metropolitan division’s purpose is to make regional and outer metropolitan NSW a better place to live, work and visit. Our division is made up of over 4,400 people in over 270 locations across NSW. We operate transport services and maintain our regional networks to help our regional communities and visitors stay safe and connected.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a professional and well-organised Local Government Project Officer (Temporary full time until June 2025) to join our Community and Place branch. This role will provide high-quality business services to support the implementation and maintenance of systems, processes and initiatives to enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Local Government team.
The successful candidate will support the financial grants administration of local government funding initiatives managed by Transport for NSW. This role will be responsible for various administrative and reporting functions of the unit which enable effective financial management and program governance activity. This includes;
- Providing accurate and timely data entry and administrative support to manage the financial establishment and delivery of government funded initiatives
- Maintaining effective and efficient business systems, processes and procedures to align with the agency’s commitment to the Future Transport 2056 Strategy and operational targets
- Prepare a range of project documents as required including briefing notes, business cases, reports, presentations, submissions, and responses to requests
The role will work in collaboration with Program Coordinators, Managers, Stakeholders, Business Partners and with colleagues across the Division, to provide accurate information and program management support.

About You
You are a motivated and highly organised seeking an opportunity to apply your well-developed communication, project support and governance skills.
You have demonstrated experience in a support role and/or relevant experience in project management and financial procurement. Experience in a government, engineering or transport infrastructure environment will be highly regarded.

Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 5A ($85,103) – 5E ($93,616) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
