The Customer, Operations & Outcomes team ensures Sydney Metro is equipped to deliver integrated, reliable, customer focused and efficient services. We are also managing large scale place-making projects, designing, and developing thriving precincts where community members can gather, connect, shop, work and play. We are proud of what we have achieved so far and excited for the full vision of Sydney Metro to come to life.
The opportunity
Right now, we have an opportunity for a Manager Environment to join the Sydney Metro Environment, Sustainability and Planning team working on the Western Sydney Airport project.
Leading the environmental team on the Station, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance contract, the primary purpose of the role is to provide specialist environmental management for Sydney Metro by working within a team to influence and report on environmental performance in accordance with relevant approvals, contract requirements, legislation, division systems and processes and best practice.
You will focus on ensuring that construction and delivery partners are conducting work in compliance with Metro and legislative requirements, working closely with them to achieve successful environmental outcomes.

About you
Alongside holding tertiary qualifications in an environmental, natural resource, planning, environmental engineering degree or similar, you will have experience working on large infrastructure projects (road or rail preferrable) and be familiar with construction practices.
You will also have prior experience in leading a team, providing leadership as well as possess strong communication, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. You will be working on a constantly changing environment and will be adaptable to changing circumstances.
Salary and Benefits
This is a Transport Services Grade 9 position ($142,178 - $159,238 plus superannuation and leave loading).
