Leads and develops a team responsible for the oversight and development of employee
communications supporting health plan policy, design, and program implementation. This
role will have ownership of the Delta sponsored health plans communication strategy and
execution. Additionally, the candidate will manage and oversee healthcare engagement and
education strategy support. This individual will contribute to the departments continuous
efforts in determining current benefit trends, including other airline and industry benefits, as
well as regulatory compliance and policy equity for all domestic ground, flight attendant and
pilot healthcare options. The manager of communications and engagement for Health Plans
will envision and manage programs designed to promote employee awareness and
understanding of healthcare plans, clinical programs, and initiatives.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
- Provides consultative services both internally and externally in developing,maintaining, and communicating company healthcare programs, point solutions, dental, vision and FSA benefits.
- Ensures regulatory compliance for all communications related to the Affordable CareAct, Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service regulations, and HIPAA oversight are met.
- Leads program development by identifying appropriate, measurable health andwellbeing initiatives utilizing industry benchmarks and employee feedback from escalated issues to better manage employee education.
- Responsible for accurate and timely communications to employees, HR Organization,
- Executives, and all leaders of the company, including front-line managers andsupervisors.
- Partners with Corporate Communications, the HR Service Delivery team, healthcaresuppliers and the Human Resource benefit process outsourcing vendor to design and develop content for healthcare benefit communications and policy/program change announcements, including subject matter expertise for annual enrollment efforts.
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Must have at least seven years of relevant work experience. Demonstrated expertise in healthcare benefits and communication is preferred.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of health and welfare plans, regulatory compliance, and communication strategy.
- Must have strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with presentation skills a plus.
- Should possess strong interpersonal skills, leadership, organization planning and time management skills.
- Should be self-motivated, detailed oriented and objective.
- Must be able to work in fast paced environment with minimal supervision and willing and able to work flexible hours and travel as required.

- Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
