MarCom Intern – Summer 2023
General Summary
This paid internship is located at the company’s corporate headquarters in Watsonville, CA. You will work as part of the Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team. MarCom is responsible for all internal and external communications and marketing activities, and this includes our social media (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube), corporate website, intranet, app, and other digital channels. We are looking for someone who can write short copy, capture and edit compelling images and video of people and projects, and who can create dynamic content for our social media channels. The successful intern will conceive, edit, and produce high-quality and engaging short videos and posts for social media and recruiting that highlight our teams and our projects. Must be comfortable traveling to local active job sites as well as working in an office environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Create storytelling content for social media using photography, videography, and text that accurately informs, entertains, and engages our audience.
- Capture video and images of people and projects
- Edit video footage and produce short-form video content.
- Select and implement visual effects, music, and audio. Deliver completed videos ready to be published.
- Work with and coach people across the company to get interesting and engaging content. Be able to work both independently and as part of a team, as well as with other stakeholders.
- Upload images and add accompanying metadata into the Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems.
- Take safety training, apply safe work practices, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Currently majoring in marketing and communications, photography, film, or journalism (or a related field) at an accredited 4-year college or university – or a recent graduate.
- Proficiency in multi-media formats, including print, video, and digital platforms.
- Compelling social media experience—particularly in content creation that resulted in growing social media channels.
- Expertise in Microsoft Suite, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Photoshop. Knowledge of After Effects, Lightroom, and Premiere a plus.
- Attention to detail/accuracy, quick learner and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
- Ability to set priorities, organize work and work in high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities and tight timelines/deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges with consistent follow through.
- Ability to work well in corporate and field environments.

Base Hourly Wage Range :
Hourly: $15.00 $18.00
Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
