What you will be doing:
Nepean Emergency Department is looking for hard working individuals with excellent communication skills to assist medical and nursing staff under the direction of the senior medical officer and nursing team leader in technical procedures and associated tasks. A large part of the job will be taking blood and inserting intravenous cannulas for our patients. Training will be provided so no experience is necessary but prior experience with pathology collection will be highly valued.

If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.

Selection criteria to be addressed:

  • Well-developed time management and organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with set deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated good communication skills in English and the ability to read and understand essential documentation.
  • Previous experience in health care and/or education in health related field.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy including proficient keyboard and data entry skills.
  • Availability and capacity to participate in a 24 hour/ seven-day rotating roster which includes working all shifts, all days of the week including public holidays, able to work reasonable overtime.
