About The Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to complement and enhance the current KARI Aboriginal Resources Inc (Paediatric) services.

A Day in the Life:
You will be responsible for providing evidence‐based, flexible, holistic and culturally sensitive occupational therapy services to Aboriginal children and adolescents aged 0‐18 years in out of home care. You will work closely with families, carers, caseworkers and the multidisciplinary team to achieve client goals. Provision of service is flexible and can involve offsite clinics, preschool/ school visits and home visiting. You will provide assessment and intervention to children and young people with a range of developmental, behavioural and functional difficulties. You will use your understanding of trauma and development to inform your clinical practice and require strong communication and problem‐solving skills to support your clients and their families.
You will be responsible for reviewing, adapting and developing the KARI occupational therapy service based on the needs of the young people and their families and the current evidence base. Participation and leadership is expected in ongoing education, teaching, evidence based practice and quality improvement activities. You will provide supervision to a level 1/2 occupational therapist to support their clinical skill development. You will also be supported in this position by clinical supervision, ample education and training opportunities to ensure your professional development and success in this role.
What you'll be doing
The senior occupational therapist provides clinical governance, leadership and expertise within paediatric occupational therapy services at KARI Aboriginal Service including the provision of safe, timely, compassionate and high quality culturally appropriate person-centered care.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
- Demonstrated advanced post graduate clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services with a paediatric population
- Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence based practice and/or development of treatment protocols
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in issues surrounding Occupational Therapy management of Aboriginal children and children in Out of Home Care (OOHC)
- Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs
- Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
