The City of Parramatta manages and operates outdoor swimming facilities in Epping and Parramatta. An exciting opportunity exists for a 12 month, Part-Time position of Pool Duty Manager.



You will have a strong commitment to water safety, customer service, industry best practice and continuous improvement.

This role may lead to further opportunities, with Council opening additional centres in the near future!

Your responsibilities as Pool Duty Manager will include:


  • Contribute individually and as part of a team of Duty Managers to efficient and effective operation of Councils swimming pools.
  • Lead, organise and supervise a lifeguard Team.
  • Liaise with, supervise, coordinate and control the activities, of hirers and the public within the pool enclosure.
  • Maintain water quality in line with NSW Department of Health and other industry standards.
  • Ensure a high level of communication, public relations and customer service to all pool users, including effectively resolving customer complaints and suggestions.
  • Utilise effective risk management techniques to ensure the safety of staff, swimmers, customers, contractors & suppliers.
  • Monitor and maintain on a day-to-day and periodic basis all filtration, recirculation and chemical dosing equipment to ensure its ongoing operation.
  • Ensure consistent high levels of cleanliness, hygiene, safety, maintenance and security within the pool surrounds.
  • Liaise and cooperate with kiosk, swim school staff, user groups and contractors to ensure the harmonious operation of the centres.




Essential Qualifications:


  • Current Australian Pool Lifeguards Certificate
  • Pool Operations Certificate
  • Current Australian First Aid Certificate
  • NSW Working with Children Check


Desirable Experience


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the operations of swimming centres
  • Experience In the use of Links Modular Solutions software




What is on offer?

Rotational roster over 7 days- shifts mornings, afternoons and weekends - 15hrs per week.

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $87,140.38 to $92,077.03 pro-rata (salary + super).
