THE ROLE
We are currently looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our wider Health Safety and Environment team at our Cosmos Project. This is a permanent role, working an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO from surrounding areas (Norseman and Kalgoorlie).
The Registered Nurse has primary responsibility for maintaining the site medical centre and associated first-aid facilities, provision of first response medical and trauma care, injury management and return to work programs, assistance with the mine site biological monitoring program along with the Health and Safety function on site.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, key accountabilities will include:
- Assessing and coordinating the treatment and ongoing care of injuries and illness;
- Responding to emergency medical events;
- Administering basic and advanced life support treatment to patients at the scene of an emergency;
- Maintaining accurate injury and treatment records using appropriate systems within a timely manner;
- Monitoring, reviewing, and recording the results of medical activities on site;
- Supporting the execution of health surveillance and health promotion activities;
- Preparing and monitoring return to work programmes, in conjunction with the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator;
- Conducting regular Drug and Alcohol Testing on site and manage associated equipment requirements; and
- Driving the continuous improvement of systems and processes to ensure IGO works towards industry best practice.

YOUR EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will be a team player with a customer service focus who is passionate about the health, safety, and care of people. You will also have the following:
- Recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing;
- Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
- HLTPAT304D Collect pathology specimens other than blood;
- Considerable experience working as a remote area Nurse preferably within the mining industry;
- Demonstrated experience providing emergency response within a remote location;
- Proficient computer skills, ideally using INX and Medical Director software packages;
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop, establish and sustain solid working relationships;
- Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers licence, and
- National Police Clearance obtained within the last three months.
